Modular is typically constructed with standardized units or dimensions; though there are lots of limitations on its usage, they do offer lot of flexibility to the consumer. In spite of all the constraints that exists with modular exhibits, they offer lot of benefits.
Custom exhibit type do not have any such constraints. All are designed and structured to meet the needs of a specific customer. They often consist of hard wall panels to provide adequate space for additional exhibits or activities. Owning your trade show exhibits is definitely the cheaper option compared to renting them. Especially if you take part in such trade shows regularly. They have their set of advantages as well. If you have enough space to store them while not in use and transportation of them could be an issue specifically custom exhibits or modular exhibits. Wrapping pad, exhibit crates, skids and dollies are needed for transporting them from one place to another.
For people who take part in frequent trade show exhibits it might be a better option to rent them especially because transporting and storing them could be a painful affair, if done frequently. These days the type of renting equipments does come across with solid quality and hence you may actually gain more time and less strain if you rent them. Before you buy, you must weigh your options effectively before deciding to buy them. Once you buy them, they become your responsibility to store and transport it for your needs. However if you rent them, it then becomes the renting companys responsibility to transport it to the ground.
What is more, setting up the booth as well as dismantling is often included in the package and this you must admit can be great relief to the exhibitor. In fact, most exhibit rentals prefer to work on turnkey basis. Since they have the required expertise as well as the required workforce trained in the art of setting up and dismantling of booths, they can do the job much better and at a lower cost too.
However, it is always wiser to have basic idea about different styles of configuration as well as different types of trade show exhibits available today. We have already talked about the later. Let us now talk a little about different types configurations. The Linear or In-Line booths are the simplest of them all. The exhibits are set in a line on either side or at the back. They are suitable for smaller booths.
For larger booths, we can consider Peninsular, Split Island and Island exhibits. They are either arranged in U-shape using the 3 side of the booth, they are called Peninsular Configuration or even Peninsular Exhibits. When two such booths are connected by a common wall in between, they are called Split Island Booth. However, if they are open on all four sides, then they are referred as Island booth. No matter what configuration you choose, you should not overcrowd it. Instead, you should leave adequate space for your customers to walk-in freely and understand the sales pitch clearly.
